Before You Book Your Wedding Transport

Questions to ask the transport hire company before you book your wedding transport check the local hire companies to compare prices and types of cars available.

Inspect the cars inside and out before agreeing to hire them. Ask if the hire cost includes ribbons, and other decorations. Make sure to book early this way you are sure to get the wedding transport you want, and expect to sign a contract for the hire car service making sure that it includes the following:

• The date, time and place of service.


• The number of people to be transported.


• The number and the type of cars used, including the car identification numbers of the ones you have selected.


• The liability, for both you and the company, for accidents and damages


• The hourly rate of each car, and the total number of hours contracted.


• Any additional fees such as taxes and tips?


• The amount of deposit paid, and the date when the balance is due.


• The cancellation policy.

Questions to Ask the Hire Company

• Ask if they are fully insured?


• How many cars and what type of cars do we need to transport us and our party to the wedding?


• Can we select the exact vehicles that will be used?


• How are your rates structured? Are there a minimum number of hours that we must book?


• What type of services are included in these rates?


• How will the driver be dressed?


• What deposit is required, and when is the balance due?


• Do you take credit cards?

If using borrowed cars for your wedding transport:

• Who have we borrowed from?
• Will the owner act as a driver?
• Discuss with them what they should wear.
• Will the best man take the groom to the church?
• What time should the first car arrive to take the bridesmaids to the ceremony?
• What time should the second car arrive to take the bride and her father to the ceremony?
• What time will the cars leave the church for the reception?
• How will the best man get to the reception?
• How will the bride’s mother travel from the church to the reception?
• Are you going to hire a car to go on the honeymoon? If not, will you use your own car from the reception to the honeymoon destination?
