The Role Of The Stepparents

The role of your stepparents will depend on how close you are to them. The step-parent may take over all or some of the duties traditionally expected of the parents. 

Do whatever feels right to you for your particular situation. For example if you are close to both your father and stepfather, you could ask them both to walk you down the aisle. 

Parents who are divorced usually sit in separate rows during the ceremony and don't stand next to each other in the receiving line. 

Just be considerate and keep the communication open, and this can help everyone find a role that they will feel comfortable with.
