Preserving Your Wedding Flowers

Preservation of your Flowers

When your wedding is over, you may want to keep your beautiful bouquet.

There are a couple ways that you can do this but, you must make this choice well in advance before your wedding.

The preservationist will give you instructions on how to care for and transport your bouquet.

Freeze-drying

your flowers-is a preservation process for fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables. It keeps the natural shape and colour of the item, and produces an incredible true-to-life finished product, by removing all traces of moisture.

Each flower is treated with a special formula which helps keep the colour and texture. The process can take any where between three to four weeks to complete. When completed the flowers are beautifully displayed in a style of your choice, either under a glass dome or framed for you to enjoy.

Drying

your bouquet –if you wish to preserve your flowers at home you can use drying agents such as sand, silica gel or borax. This involves covering each flower completely with the chosen substance, which will draw out the moisture.

Wedding Tip
#2

If you are on a tight budget use lots of greenery.

Greenery is inexpenvise and will make a great filler and you will use less flowers.

Try using potted plants and shrubs such a ficus trees which can be rented.

You may even have your own fake trees at home, or you could borrow from friends and family.

These will look charming when lit with tiny lights.
