Knitted Wire Napkin Rings
To make the knitted wire napkin rings you can use any type of bead (but make sure that they are not to large). I have listed below a color selection which you can easily change to suit your own needs.
What you need 1 packet of colored beads to match your wedding theme 1 pack of gold colored beads 1 packet of pearl beads 1 packet of crystal beads 1 packet of clear seed beads 1 reel of gold beading wire 28 gauge Size 4mm (No. 5) steel knitting needles Wire cutters
Instructions - Randomly thread about 90 beads onto the wire while it is still attached to the reel.
- Using the size 4 mm (No. 5) knitting needles, cast on 4 stitches (don’t include any of the beads when you cast on).
- First Row: Using a plain stitch, begin to knit bringing up a bead for every stitch and knitting it into the stitch.
- Second row: Purl stitch bring up a bead for every stitch and knitting it into the stitch.
- Continue to knit and purl the rows as above until the work is about 13cm (5½ inches). Cast off.
- Cut off the remaining wire leaving about 10 cm (4 inches) use this to ‘sew’ the two ends together to form a circle. Trim of the remaining wire.
