If you are having a religious ceremony meet with the priest, rabbi or
relevant clergy member, to discuss various aspects of the ceremony.
Find out about vows and readings and music suitable for your religion.
The officiant will be a great source of ideas for hymns and readings.
If you are choosing a civil wedding meet with various officiants and
try to find one that you like and can work with easily. Every officiant
has a different style.

If you have booked the
officiant and realize later that things are not
working out, let them know.
You should be comfortable with the marriage officiant to create a
perfect day.
You are under no obligations to stay with the officiant, the paperwork
can be transferred.

They explain the marriage laws and church rules

The celebrant allows you to see him/her perform

annulment papers before you apply for your marriage license.
