My name is Brandy. I'm getting married to a US Marine!

I need help coming up with the wedding theme. I am thinking old red, white, blue, and yellow.

I want it to be a classy, elegant and some what Marine style.

I really need help!

Congratulations Brandi,

I'm mother of a Marine soon-to-be groom. Here's what our kids chose...Groom in dress blues; bride in traditional white dress.

We're doing navy tux with red cumberbunds for the guys with the bridemaids in red. Brides mom in red; grooms mom in navy.

Gifts for the bridesmaids are red,white,blue matching jewelry. Gifts for the groomsmen include Marine t-shirt & pocket knife.

Also instead of a unity candle, Jared & Ashley chose to have a floral bouquet from which they will take flowers and present to each of the parents and grandparents.

They want the rehearsal dinner at the park, so it will be picnic style foods with red, white & blue decorated cupcakes.

Music at the reception will include a selection of patriotic songs including the Marine hymn as well as some of the traditional.

Hi,

Congrads by the way. I'm a Marine myself and I'm actually from Marshall County Tn south of Nashville.

Well You don't have to go with the exact colors of the Dress Blues. You still can have your fav colors and pull off the military wedding.

Some ideas your favors can be dog tags with your wedding info engraved, you can have the sword arch even cut your cake with his sword.

If you have a DJ if you wanted you could even through in a few marine hymns.

Your cake topper could be a little bride and a man in dress blues.

Your getaway exit could be guests with sparklers some people love that with the military.

For your escort cards you could have pix of you and the soon to be hubby and in those pix could be him in his uniform etc.

Soon to be Welcome to the Marine Corps! Red would definitely go great and keep it classy.

We are planning our wedding too (am marrying a marine). My best friend is an interior decorator and really great with color combos. Her suggestions were to go with a peach accent color if we do the summer and he wears his white pants - and a deep scarlet red if its winter. She said to only go with one though because you'll already have the blue and white in the mix - unlike a normal wedding where the palate is usually black for the guys tuxes.

Hi Brandy,

I am marrying a Marine also, which is very exciting but we all need advice on how to make sure it's perfect.

My wedding is September 08, 2009 which is coming up. I'm only 19 btw :)

Anyway, I chose the obvious colors that could bring out the Marine Corps, with Scarlet, Blue, & Gold.

I don't really having white in the wedding is bad either. It's your call, everyone has their own opinions, so there's mine.

Just make sure you don't do colors that will be gaudy and look bad next to the Dress Blues.

Check out David's bridal.. I got my bridesmaids dresses there and their "marine" blue matches the Marines' dress blue pants.

Hi! Congratulations!!

My boyfriend and I are planning on getting married soon as well.

He is a Marine Corps Officer, and we have decided on colors of being Navy Blue, Ivory, and deep red.

You can have an elegant wedding and still incorporate the Marine Corps theme.

The internet is FULL of ideas with Marine corps themes.

Hi Brandy

I can just picture your red, white, blue and yellow wedding theme.

To make your military wedding elegant you can?t go wrong with white and dark blue or white and red for your main colors. Use the yellow and your other color choice to accent your decor.

Do be careful not to go overboard with the accent colors as it can end up looking tacky.

You could have your bridesmaids dressed all in red carrying red and white bouquets.

The groom and his men would look dashing in their blues as will the ring bearer in his matching blue suit carrying a red and white ring pillow.

Your wedding flowers for the ceremony and reception could be red and white or you could use red, white and blue helium balloons to decorate your guest?s tables at the reception.

Your table linen could be white with soft yellow table runners.

You could have a groom's cake with a military theme.

Your wedding cake could be white decorated with red flowers and use a Sabre to cut the cake.

For wedding favors perhaps candy covered in red, white and blue paper.

These are just a few of many more ideas I am sure.
