A-Line Wedding Gown

This style is very simple and elegant. The A-line gown silhouette is very popular; it suits brides of all shapes and sizes.
Whether you are tall, curvy or straight, an A-Line can make you look fabulous. It can be slender and narrow or it can be quite wide, requiring a hoop.
A-lines gowns can be made in any fabric and can look dramatic, in the way it is embellished. However you do need to keep in mind, the larger your hips, the wider the base of the skirt will be.

The waistline starts just below the bust similar in look to a maternity dress.
The skirt is usually slender and graceful. Empire-waist gowns are some of the elegant, flattering styles.
It is suited to someone who has a small bust, because it brings the viewer’s eye toward the neckline.
Princess Line Wedding Gown
The traditional version of this gown silhouette is a strapless A-Line.
There are now many variations you can have pleats, shoulder straps. The distinct feature of the princess style gown is the fitted bodice and waist which are in vertical panels of fabric following the natural contour of the body.
This style of gown silhouette is a good choice for the overweight brides because it is simple and elegant, and creates an illusion of height. To make it work, you need to have some bust.
Going strapless is not the most appropriate option if you are big busted. This can also be the case if you are very small and slim with little or no bust, most likely it will not be suitable as it emphasizes the fact that you have a small bust.
Fish Tail and Mermaid Wedding Gown
This style is slim, sexy, and body hugging down to the knees or just below the knees, it then flairs out delicately at the base of the skirt from below the knee.
This style is extremely elegant with a low cut back. This emphasizes the figure and accentuates the curves of the back and hips.
Both styles suit a bride that is slim to medium build and bust. You can not get away with this style successfully if you are large busted with small hips and delicate backside, you will appear top heavy.
Sheath Wedding Gown
Simple and elegant, this gown silhouette follows the natural body curves from the shoulder to the hem.
Often clinging to the body, this style is best suited to someone who has a flat stomach and very lean.
You can have an attachment that ties around the waist like a wrap around skirt and this can be your train.
This attachment can also be quite puffy so you have the effect of a princess style skirt that is straight at the front.
If you choose these attachments they can be taken off when ever your desire to do so, and this does add variety to you wedding photographs! |
