The cutting the wedding cake is normally done at
the
reception, between the speeches and the bridal waltz this is usually
organized by the best man.
The bride stands in front of the cake with the groom
behind
her. She then picks up the cake knife, he wraps his arms around her and
rests his hands on each of her wrists and they cut the bottom tier of
the cake together.
The first slice, which is small not bigger than a
mouthful
is feed to the groom by the bride, and then the groom cuts a small
piece and feeds it to the bride.
The cake is then taken to the kitchen, sliced and
placed on
plates if served for dessert, or placed in cake bags (boxes) for the
guests to take home. The cake can be cut by the caterer who knows how
to cake a tiered wedding cake.

On the other hand if you have family or
friends who are throwing your party, they may need a little guidance on
how to cut a tiered wedding cake
in order to get the right number of slices from the cake.
