
Cupcake wedding cake is a simple delight. Remember when you were a
child it was like finding a treasure in the palm of your hand. The
humble cupcake has now become an artful creation, suitable for any age
and occasion.
A wedding cupcake is not plain it is crowned with a delicious topping
(such as buttercreams, cream cheese frosting and fondant icing) and
often adorned with sugar confections of every shape and size.
You can almost use any cake recipe to make the cupcake. The cupcake can
be embellished in a seemingly endless range of color and flavors.
It is an individual wedding cake, that has been baked and decorated in
a deliberate manner to make it beautiful and taste as good as it looks.
The cupcake can also be used as a wedding favor which can be presented
in many lovely ways from organza bags, paper bags and small cake boxes
all matched to your wedding theme.

Cupcake Wedding Cake Ideas

This cake has been iced with fondant icing which has been embossed with
a decorative design. You can make your own embossing tool with a clean
button of piece of jewelery. Press the embossing tool gently and evenly
into the soft fondant (sugar paste) spacing the pattern evenly as you
work. The flowers and leaves have been made from sugar paste.

This adorable cupcake would be ideal for a garden wedding with its open
bloom which has been made by using a petal cutter and then shaped and
painted. The flower petals have been held together with royal icing.
The white cake topping is fondant icing which has been rolled out with
a decorative rolling pin and cut out with a round cutter. To keep the
fondant in place brush the top of the cupcake with a little jam. The
ladybug is made from fondant icing.

Castle in the clouds. This would suit a Cinderella Wedding Theme the
castle has been made from colored sugar paste. The 'cloud' has tiny
butterflies on it which have been cut from rolled sugar paste.

A riot of color with reds and blues. The flowers and leaves have been
cut out from rolled fondant icing (sugar paste) and placed directly
onto piped frosting.

A sugar frangipani sits on top of this simple wedding cupcake.

The flowers on these pink and baby blue fondant covered cupcakes been
made using cutters and placed around the outside of the cakes. The
other cupcake wedding cakes have been covered with edible pearls.

The cupcakes in this picture have been made to look extra special with
