think of as your best friend calls you and gives you the good news that

She may have been supporting herself for some time, live away from the family home, is older, and better educated; she could also have been married before. If she has been living on her own she would have many household items. A shower that you give your best friend is an expression of your support and encouragement to her. It is also a nice way for family and friends to get together and offer gifts and bits of advice. You may not like the traditional wedding shower with the games, showy decorations and unhealthy food.
