Beauty and Health
Beauty Starts with a Balanced Diet

It is important that while you are busy planing your wedding to take the time to pay more attention to your diet and eat nutritious meals this will give you gorgeous looking skin, nails, hair and give you more energy.

You should start a beauty routine early and not leave it to the last minute. Get into a good habit not only for your wedding but for the rest of your life. It will be especially hard to keep it up while planning your wedding, so try not to be tempted to eat junk food when there seems to be no time to prepare a healthy meal.

Eat fish two to three times a week, sardines, salmon and mackerel are great as they contain omega-3 fatty acids which will help keep the hair nourished and glossy and strengthen the nails. Eat small amounts of nuts, seeds, and wheat germ these contain zinc, which is good for skin, hair and nails.

Your hair, skin and nails are all made up of protein and cannot repair themselves without sufficient amount of amino acids which can be found in meat, chicken, fish, eggs, nuts, pulses and beans. Eat fruits such as apples, pears, and berries.

Fill up on fresh vegetables, steamed or salad. Avoid fast foods and fatty foods which are bad for the skin and your health. And most of all don’t forget to drink at least two liters of water a day this will cleanse your insides, and help give you good looking skin.

Beauty Routine Tips

Start a routine as soon a possible after announcing your engagement.
  • At least a month before your wedding you should be drinking a least two liters of water a day.
  • Start a twice-daily beauty routine. It is important to use quality cleaners, toner and moisturizer morning and night.
  • Exfoliate your face and body twice a week, this will remove dead skin and help refine your pores. Make sure the exfoliant is not to harsh for your skin.
  • As part of your beauty routine, start using a good moisturizer for your body every night after showering.
  • Just before the wedding give your face a break from wearing make-up, but do not forget to use a good moisturizer and sunscreen.
  • If you do not normally have facials, don’t get one done in the week before the wedding your skin may have a major breakout, have it done at least three weeks before the wedding, this will allow your skin to settle if you do have any breakouts.
  • Eat lots of fresh fruit and vegetables plus regular exercise and plenty of sleep will help in making you healthier and happier.

Glowing Skin

If your skin is in good condition, you will be a glowing beauty no matter what type of skin tone you have (olive, peach toned, tanned, freckled, and ivory). If you have a strapless dress make sure that there are no strap marks to show your tan.

If you want an overall tan, book yourself in for a spray tan, but do have a trial run at least two to three weeks before the wedding to see if you like it. Have the spray on tan applied two days before the wedding and adapt your make up to match its tone.

If you choose to apply a fake tan yourself (as with the spray on tan have a trial run), making sure that you follow the application instructions carefully. If you are using a self-applied tanning cream or lotion put it on the day before the wedding so that the tan sets and you will have no chance of it staining your wedding dress.

Waxing

If you wish to have silky smooth skin, you may wish to add hair removal to you beauty routine. Waxing is the most effective way to remove any unwanted hair. Start a monthly routine to remove the hair on the legs, underarms, upper lips, bikini line and wherever else it may be necessary.

Waxing gives a long term result and is kinder to the skin than shaving and the effects last longer, (it will leave your skin smooth well into your honeymoon). If you are having your waxing done in a salon, make your last appointment two days before the wedding so that any redness will fade.

If you are on a budget, there are some very good at home treatments that you can do yourself (remember if you are using a product that you have never tried before, have a trial two to three weeks before the wedding, just in case you get a reaction to it).

Hands and Feet

Your hands will be a focal point on your wedding day; you will be showing of your gorgeous rings. Treat yourself to frequent manicures and pedicures at a salon or at home. Use lots of hand cream regularly it will help keep the hands and feet soft and supple.

For your feet scrub daily with a pumice stone and soap when in the shower, it will remove hard cracked skin. File and trim your toe nails and apply a coat of nail lacquer.

If your nails are not the best why not consider acrylic nails, but do have them applied professionally. On your wedding day use a clear or pastel colour on your nails to give a natural look. Strong vivid colors on your lips and fingers will give a dramatic look.

Wedding Tip
#2

If you are on a tight budget use lots of greenery.

Greenery is inexpenvise and will make a great filler and you will use less flowers.

Try using potted plants and shrubs such a ficus trees which can be rented.

You may even have your own fake trees at home, or you could borrow from friends and family.

These will look charming when lit with tiny lights.
