How to make the beaded dragonfly card

  1. From the cream card stock cut a piece that measures 13 x 25.5 cm (5 x 10 inches). With this piece in a horizontal position, draw a light pencil mark 6.5 cm (2½ inches) from each end.

  2. Fold along theses lines and score the card. These two end pieces should meet in the middle of the card.

  3. Cut two 2.5 x 12.5 cm (1 x 5 inch) strips from the pink embossed card stock and glue them to the outer edges of each side of the folded cream card stock.

  4. Wrap the stems of the roses around a pencil to create a corkscrew effect. Using the tacky glue attach a rose to each of the pink embossed card stock.

  5. Make two small bows with the pink ribbon. Attach one bow to the side of each rose.

  6. From the card stock cut a 5 cm (2 inches)square. On the back of the square mark the center point and draw a light line. Glue one half of this square onto the left wing of the card.

  7. From the pink card stock cut a 4 cm (1½ inch) square , and glue it in the center of the 5cm (2 inch) cream square.

  8. From the cream card stock cut a 3 cm ( 1¼ inch) square and glue it on top of the 4 cm (1½ inch) square.

  9. Cut two pieces of gold beading wire 15 cm (6 inch). Alternating the beads make two strands that are 7cm (2¾ inches) long.

  10. On the left and right panels, mark the edge where the pink embossed card and the cream card meet, lightly mark with a pencil 2.5 cm (1 inch) from the top and bottom of the card. Using a needle punch two holes through the card on both panels. Push the ends of the beaded wire through these holes and secure them to the inside of the card with clear sticky tape.

  11. Punch out four daisies from the pink card stock and glue to each corner to the card, you can add a small bead to the center of the flowers if you like.

  12. Attach the beaded dragonfly to the center of the card with a little tacky glue. To make the beaded dragonfly you can find the instructions here.

  13. Use your computer to print your message. Cut the paper to size and make an insert for the card. Tack it in place so that it covers the beading wire on the end panels.

Wedding Tip
#2

If you are on a tight budget use lots of greenery.

Greenery is inexpenvise and will make a great filler and you will use less flowers.

Try using potted plants and shrubs such a ficus trees which can be rented.

You may even have your own fake trees at home, or you could borrow from friends and family.

These will look charming when lit with tiny lights.
